There's a whole world out there you never knew existed. The social dance community is extensive, organized, and global. It offers
lessons, dances, and events at the local and international level. There are competitive circuits, like in figure skating and
golf. There are weekend conventions like trade shows and conferences but way more fun.
Each dance style has its own
community, but since many social dancers love to do a variety of styles, there is lots of "crossover". For example, someone who
takes a Salsa lesson this summer might dance all year then try taking some lessons in West Coast Swing in the Fall. He might then
go Salsa dancing every Friday and WCS dancing every Sunday.
